Data Protection

The Data Protection Act 1998 has been introduced to help control the use of CCTV in public places or areas where the public has access.

If you use CCTV at your premises you are legally required to carry out various duties to keep in compliance with this Act.

Example:-

You are required to register as soon as possible after the 1st March 2000. The whole of the Data Protection Act 1998 applies including the right of people to access your recordings in accordance with the rights laid down in the Act if your system was installed before October 1998.

Security Design Services can undertake a full and comprehensive survey of the current operational procedures you have in force at present and advise you of any measures you need to take for full compliance with the Data Protection Act
